Why Frame Mount?

Frame bosses give you 3 points of contact directly on the tube. The mounting geometry is designed around the frame's curvature, which limits movement in every direction — no flex, no rattle on gravel or chunky singletrack.

Mount Style Matters.

This is one of the biggest advantages of 3D printing over molded parts — and it's worth understanding.

Why not just one mount?

A single universal mount would need to be metal to handle the stress concentrations from a geometry that doesn't match your attachment points. By designing mounting features specifically for Frame Mount or Rack Mount, we ensure 3 points of contact and constrain the cage's movement in every direction.

3 points of contact

Three contact points eliminate the degrees of freedom that cause rattling. On gravel roads or chunky singletrack, a cage that can rock or twist will work loose over time. The right mount geometry locks it down from the start.

Printed to your setup

Because we print to order, we can build the mounting features into the cage body itself — not as an adapter bolted on after the fact. The result is a stiffer, lighter cage that performs the way it was designed to, on your specific bike.

Printed. Not Molded.

Mass-produced cages are injection molded in one color, one mount style, in one factory, for everyone. HoneyCage is different. Each cage is 3D printed in Colorado to your exact color and mount spec — no minimums, no compromise.

PETG gives us the flexibility to print in virtually any color while keeping the cage stiff, UV-resistant, and trail-ready. The hex geometry isn't just aesthetic — it's how we get maximum rigidity from minimum material.
